Frequently AskedQuestions
Are the ghost walks suitable for the whole family?
The stories we recount are to do with ghostly or paranormal happenings so they are obviously going to be scarier that a tale about flowers and puppy dogs, and some of the history we include does reflect a darker side of the town's past so we consider the content of our walks to be 'PG'
Will anyone/thing jump out at me?
Definatly not on any of our regular ghost walks.... well not by anyone associated with us as we do not employ live actors etc. However on our 'special ghost walks' there may be a few suprises!
Are the routes suitable for wheelschairs and buggys?
The Ghost Walk of Old Weymouth is 99% accessable with just one small area that may not be possible to get a wheelchair into (a buggy is fine). The Haunted Town Trail is 100% accessable for all.
WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER
We only cancel in cases of prolonged heavy rain or thunderstorm as there are a couple of exposed areas where it would be unpleasant or unsafe to stand in weather extremes. If you are in any doubt about a walk taking place always call us before setting out.
Are dogs allowed on the walks?
As long as they are on a lead and are friendly.
Will i see a ghost?
We cannot guarantee it but see our Casebook page.
DO WE HAVE TO BOOK
No booking is needed for individuals wanting to attend any of our open public walks, simply turn up and pay on the night. Groups of 10 or more please call in advance if you want to attend a public walk.
ARE THERE DISCOUNTS FOR GROUPS
Yes for groups of 10 or more on one of our open public walks. Please call us for details. NB during the main school holiday weeks, our walks are very popular so if you are a group of 15 or more you may prefer to book a private walk
CAN WE BOOK A PRIVATE WALK
We are more than happy to organise private walks for individuals or groups at any time of year. There is however a minimum fee of £50.00

who we are
As a renowned storyteller and entertainer, Alex Woodward combined her professional skills with her love of history and a long held interest in the paranormal to create
The Weymouth Ghost Walks
The stories and events that we recount on our walks are either taken from public record or local folk legend OR have been told to us in good faith by local people who have lived, or are still living in, the area or building concerned.
Our aim is quite a simple one and that is to provide an interesting and entertaining event that will be enjoyed by all, visitor and local, believer and non-believer alike.

Walk Casebook
Walk Date - 01/07/2009 NOTHE GARDENS
During a recounting of an event that had happened in that spot a walker reported that her mobile phone was vibrating, nothing unusual in that except that it was switched off!
Walk Date 08/07/2009 FRIENDS BURIAL GROUND
Giant Orbs captured on photos.
Walk Date 05/08/2009 FRIENDS BURIAL GROUND
Female walker tapped twice on the leg while standing apart from the walking group.
Walk Date 12/08/2009 NOTHE GARDENS
Gentleman reported an overwhelming sense of DeJa Vue during a recounting. He claims to have never been to Weymouth or to knowing any of the history yet at that point he knew everything that I was going to say, he said he felt as though he'd actually lived through the events I was recalling. This gentleman appeared to be completely genuine and visibly shaken by the experience.
Walk Date 12/08/2009 FRIENDS BURIAL GROUND
Several walkers reported strange effects or out of focus photos. The strangest effect we saw was a photo of a boy taken in the centre of this are. The boy appears to have a white glow/fuzziness surrounding hin making him look as though he is somehow in front of the photo. It's worth noting that photos taken before and after the burial ground are perfectly normal and this phenomenon is quite common in this particular location.
Walk Date 19/08/2009 RED LION ALLEYWAY
Several walkers report seeing the word 'Hello' suddenly appear etched into the brickwork as the story was recounted.
Walk Date 19/08/2009 FRIENDS BURIAL GROUND
We were accompanied on this walk by Steve Griffiths from 'Living With The Dead' and on entering the area he asked if there had ever been reports or photos of dog as he felt one had been buried there, as it sometimes was the custom to bury a dog in a corner of a burial ground to act quite literally as a watchdog/protector. I told him we had not had any reports but within a few seconds of this two younger members of the group came running up with their mobile phone asking what it was that was in the photo they had just taken. The photo quite distinctly showed two small pinpoints of red light, quite close together and around 18 inches or so above the ground. Was this the glowing eyes of the burial ground watchdog?
Walk Date 19/09/2009 NOTHE GARDENS
Once again a walker reported a very strong sense of Da Ja Vue during a recounting.
